Medium: fired porcelain
Dimensions: 3 inches x 3.5 inches x 3 inches - 0.5 Lb. (approx)
This little chair was a model for a series of miniature porclelain 'figurine' chairs, which were based on a range of real life riser chairs designed for people with mobility problems by Golden Technologies. Just like the riser chairs, Porcelain is used in the manufacture of replacement body parts, especially knees, hips and teeth - it helps us when our bodies start to wear away. Porcelian is also used in the manufacture of hopes and dreams, in the form of ornaments and figurines. I think that this chair would make a more realistic figurine for the mantlepiece.
Now in the collection of William and Patty Rash [Hampton, VA].
