Minako Shirakura
Minako Shirakura often deals with feelings and thoughts that derived from her experiences. Her artwork is highly personal on one level, but at the same time she believes that something personal can be a doorway to a surprisingly universal issue. She received a BA (Hons) in glass, a Postgraduate Diploma from Edinburgh College of Art in Scotland and an MFA in Sculpture/Dimensional Studies from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. She has exhibited her work in the UK, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Czech Republic and the US. She is currently an artist in residence fellow at Fine Arts Work Center, Provincetown, MA.
